☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ (four stars) The talented duo of Frit and Frat Fuller have created this homage to James Brown and drafted a truly talented team to bring it to fruition. A stellar ensemble of singers and dancers delivers a seat-stirring tribute to the music of Soul Singer Number One ... the commercial possibilities seem obvious: Just picture the crowds doing the boogaloo down Broadway, singing "I Got You (I Feel Good)."

James Brown died on December. 25, 2006, but his rip-roaring imprint continues, as witnessed by "Down Around Brown Town," now leaping, rocking and boogieing around ... Created by KIN Dance Company founders Frit and Frat, this compact revue pursues bare-bones means to inventive ends ... the Brown Song book fiercely vocalized ... with Balanchine-worthy classicism and modern dance asymmetry, Fosse-level pizazz and incendiary tap dancing show up in the mix ... all members of the dancing corps are gifted, vivid and versatile

"Down Around Brown Town" is in town. Nothing becomes a legend most than that his music continues to live. Frit and Frat Fuller of the Kin Dance Company created, directed and choreographed this loving tribute to the great showman James Brown. BOTTOM LINE: This show will start you on the track of saying "I feel good" but leave you saying "Please, Please" don’t go.

Forget what you think you know about James Brown. Yes, yes, the Godfather of Soul and Funk all that. In all likelihood you remember numerous hit records ... it’s quite worth the ticket to wrap your head around them as they are presented in Down Around Brown Town.
