Garth Fagan Dance
Founded by Jamaican-born choreographer and dancer, Garth Fagan, Garth Fagan Dance is an internationally acclaimed contemporary American dance company, a bustling school of dance with an enrollment of 400 students, and a community-based resource of broad and growing influence, whose home has remained in Rochester, New York for almost five decades. They remain dedicated to their founder's mission to advance, nurture, and sustain under their Bessie Award-winning leadership.
Drawing on the grounded strength of modern dance, the vivacity of Afro-Caribbean dance, and the precision of ballet, Fagan's technique lends itself to feats of balance, which seem impossible until you see them with your own eyes.

Jody Sperling / Time Lapse Dance
Climate activist and choreographer Jody Sperling's vision is to engage human motion with the environment and grapple with the unfolding catastrophe of climate change. Deeply collaborative and cross-disciplinary, the work combines dance, environmental physics, music, visual art, lighting, and media. The company's programming integrates performance and media with outreach, including live and virtual workshops, presentations, talkbacks, screenings, and panels with climate scientists and communicators.
Most recently, two of Jody's works, Vive La Loïe! and Clair de Lune, were featured to great acclaim on the Paul Taylor Dance Company during their run at the Lincoln Center.
You think equally of nature and art: Georgia O'Keeffe's flower paintings, the luminous trajectories of jellyfish, George Balanchine's Vienna Waltzes, a chrysalis morphing rapidly into a butterfly.

Lula Washington Dance Theatre
The Lula Washington Dance Theatre is a Los Angeles-based repertory dance ensemble that performs innovative and provocative choreography. LWDT has become one of the most admired African-American contemporary dance companies in the West – known for powerful, high-energy dancing, unique choreography, and exceptional educational residencies.
At a time when flashy technique often seduces with surface dazzle, the Lula Washington Dance Theater projects a remarkably vivid mix of purity and dynamism.
